I told Clarke that if he finished his math and language arts summer skills workbook, I would buy him a new video game. I think I got off pretty easy. He was trying to decide between two that were $49.99, when he saw Air Kirby and lept at the box.
I would have shelled out $50, because he worked really hard. There were 30 lessons in each workbook. The lessons took about 20 minutes each. At the beginning of the summer, he was quite vigilant. I think he got five lessons done in each book in the first week. But then my summer seminar started and I was out of pocket during the week. After I resurfaced, he did two lessons a day for three weeks straight.
When I got off for $20, I was a little elated, because the checkbook was tight. Now, I feel like I should have bought him two $20 games or one $50 game.
